I think today was a good day. The local artist collective met today, they had a potluck with lots of yummy food and alcohol (´・ω・`) I’m not usually a drinker, but they had some nice cider. I may or may not have had some wine as well…
I was approached by the lady that organizes our meetings, she had suggested I teach a cartoon-drawing class since I make comics and all. The collective is run out of a museum, and so she (and some of the other members) have been trying to get me more involved in museum events. I’m honestly a bit nervous, I’m a lot younger than pretty much all of the other members, and I’ve never really taught art lessons before. I still have a long time before I even have to decide whether I want to do this or not, so I’m going to think it over a bit. So far, the general consensus has been an overwhelming “Yes, I would love to learn cartoons from Angelina”, which makes me feel quite chuffed. A few of the members are familiar with my comic, which I find endearing since most of them, like I’ve said, are way older than me. One of my good friends there asked me to “please make Anton nicer to Hong”, which I also found endearing. Everyone seems to really like Hong, which is awesome. They’re my favorite, too, but I think that’s really obvious haha.
And, speaking of comics and cartoons, my goal of making print copies of ‘The Laconic Student’s Dilemma’ may very soon be an actualized reality. Since I’m a part of the collective, I’m technically an unofficial “member” of the museum it’s hosted out of, thus meaning I can use their facilities– which include a fancy printing press. No clue how to use one, though, and it looks scary. Maybe I could ask someone for help…
Oh, and last but not least, on my way back home I made a pit-stop at Daiso. The Daiso here is kind of new, and I’ve only been there a few times. They have a really great craft supplies section, and they have a lot of cool stickers and tape there too.
All in all, today was really eventful. Eventful but good. I’m full.
