Six years ago today, I created this website. I was 17 then, and my only prior experience with HTML was coding custom Tumblr themes in middle school. Needless to say, I struggled a lot in the early years and left this site abandoned for a while since I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with it.
Over the years, this site has changed and grown significantly. It may not be the most impressive or eye-catching website ever, but it definitely looks and functions better than it did back in 2019. I’ve also gained a lot of followers on Neocities as I’ve expanded the site, as of right now I have 159. I’m not the kind of person to make a big fuss about followers or popularity, but it is nice to see that my audience is growing. 159 people in this world care enough about my website to track updates! That makes me happy. I like sharing my art with everyone here. And I know a good portion of my traffic comes from outside Neocities as well, so that 159 number isn’t entirely accurate to how big my audience really is.
I remember when having 69 followers was such a huge milestone, lol.
As I sit and write this, I can’t help but wonder about the future of my site. What will it look like six years from now? Will I still be maintaining it? Will there still be an audience eagerly awaiting the next update? Will my audience have grown? I guess only time will tell… I think the future has lots of good things in store ^_^
And on an unrelated note, I’ve been playing Stardew Valley a lot lately. I’ve always really liked “life simulator” games, they’re good for escapism. In the game, I’m currently trying to romance Leah. She’s really pretty (´・ω・｀) and she’s an artist! I’ve been giving her lots of crops and flowers to speed up the friendship process, so hopefully everything goes smoothly with her!
I like getting to know all of the characters and building relationships with them, even if they're fictional.
