Vacation

I’m finally back from my little vacation. It was fun, but exhausting. I was outside hiking and swimming pretty much every day (´・ω・`) I think I may have overdone it because I feel a bit ill, but whatever.

For most of my trip I stayed with my uncle. He lives on an almond farm out in the middle of nowhere, and I had a lot of fun walking around his property and getting to know people in town. The town he lives in is very small, and has a tight-knit community. I really admire that.

Some pictures from the farm. Walking along the canal listening to the crickets and cicadas at night is very lonesome yet strangely comforting.

The river felt lonesome too, the air was humid but a stray Siamese kept me company.

I think the best part of my trip was when I went rafting on the Stanislaus river. The water was really cold which felt nice since it was so hot. I was out there for five hours! I saw a lot of trout and carp in the water, really big ones too… I think if I ever come back I’ll bring a fishing rod!

Of course, other things happened on this trip too, but it’s all too much and too overwhelming to recall right now. OH, and before I forget, I left a drawing of Hong and Anton in the Sequoia national park's visitor center. I wonder if anyone will find it…
