    FAQ

(Decided it was about time to make one since I’ve been asked these questions quite a bit!)

    How is your art produced?

All of my digital art is made in Microsoft Paint; this includes my animations as well. My traditional art is made using watercolors (don’t know the brand soz) and Prismacolor-brand colored pencils.

    Do you accept commissions?

My commissions are currently closed, I may re-open them in the future if I suddenly need extra money for whatever reason.

Can I use your art as inspiration for my own?

Go ahead. Feel free to credit me if you’d like.

Can I make derivative works (ie fanart, fanfiction) that feature your characters?

Yes! If you do, I’d love to see it.

Can I use your art as an icon/profile picture for social media?

Sure. You don’t have to credit me as the artist, but if you want to, go ahead.

    Who/What inspires you?

My art style is influenced equally by Western cartoons and Japanese anime. Some of my favorite visual artists are Sally Cruikshank, Suehiro Maruo, Tatsuyuki Tanaka, Jim Woodring, and Masaaki Yuasa (I also have a Youtube playlist for general inspirations). I also derive a lot of inspiration from the music I listen to, as well as my daily life.
As for my writing, I read a lot of Charles Dickens and Jane Austen novels growing up, hence my love for writing plucky underdogs and brooding men with tragic upbringings. I’m a huge fan of character-driven stories, especially if said characters are quirky and complex. Writing about strange, traumatized people going on strange, traumatizing adventures is my bread and butter at this point.

Will you ever make comics again?

Probably not. It was fun while it lasted, but I got burnt out pretty quickly. I switched to writing novels because it’s easier for me to convey ideas in a written format.

How did you make this website?

With Neocities and a very limited knowledge of HTML/CSS leftover from my Tumblr custom theme layout days.

Can I copy the code from your website to make my own?

It’s fine. I can’t really stop anyone from doing this, and my layout isn’t super original anyway. If you choose to do this, please try to at least make it original and not a 1:1 copy of my website.

What does ‘The Laconic Student's Dilemma’ even mean, anyway?

It’s a long story. Maybe one day I will explain it to everyone!
